Open world games are getting bigger and bigger. But even the most massive games that feel infinite have their boundaries, and game developers come up with all sorts of interesting ways to justify those map boundaries. They're all about using their imagination where keeping us hooked is concerned.  According to one redditor in a thread about this exact topic, there's a Family Guy game in which a man mimes an invisible wall, making it impossible for the player to cross. In a Spider Man video game, Peter Parker won't leave Manhattan because he's too broke to take the bus.
